Foundations of Practical Life Skills
A carefully designed programme of practical, purposeful activities enables children to
develop independence and self-assurance through meaningful interaction with familiar,
everyday resources. Through consistent, hands-on experiences, children refine their
coordination, strengthen concentration, and establish positive learning behaviours.
Activities such as pouring, sorting, organising, and caring for their surroundings promote
responsibility, self-care, and attention to detail. These experiences not only enhance fine
motor skills and focus but also nurture respect for the environment, consideration for others,
and the development of social grace and courteous conduct.
Sensory Exploration and Discovery
A thoughtfully designed sensorial curriculum enables children to explore, compare, and
classify using sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. Through structured sensory experiences,
children refine their observation skills, expand language, and develop early problem-solving
abilities.
As young learners naturally engage with the world through their senses, these activities help
them organise and interpret the impressions they receive—such as colours, sounds, shapes,
textures, scents, and tastes.
Early Mathematics
Children develop strong foundations in numeracy through hands-on exploration of number,
shape, pattern, measurement, and problem-solving. Using carefully designed concrete
materials, they gain a clear understanding of mathematical concepts and operations.
Through practical experiences, children build confidence in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division while developing a secure understanding of number and quantity.
Early exposure to shapes and patterns further strengthens logical thinking and mathematical
reasoning.
Expressive Arts and Creative Development (Art & Craft)
Creative experiences such as painting, drawing, model-making, and design nurture
imagination, self-expression, and fine motor development. Children are encouraged to
explore a variety of materials and techniques, supporting creativity through meaningful,
hands-on learning.
Art plays a vital role in holistic development, promoting cognitive growth and supporting free,
exploratory play. Through creative activities, children develop patience, self-control, bilateral
coordination, and refined motor skills, while gaining a strong sense of pride and achievement
that enhances their self-esteem.
Early Literacy and Language Development (Reading & Vocabulary)
Through storytelling, structured phonics, shared reading, and meaningful conversation,
children develop strong listening skills, enriched vocabulary, comprehension, and early
writing confidence. A language-rich environment nurtures a lasting love of reading.
Children are first introduced to the phonetic sounds of letters, gradually progressing to word
building, longer phonetic words, and simple sentences. Alongside this, they explore
phonograms and key elements of grammar to strengthen literacy foundations.
Weekly educational documentaries further enhance general knowledge and broaden
children’s understanding of the wider world.
Cultural and Global Awareness
Children explore diverse cultures, traditions, celebrations, and communities, fostering
respect, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the wider world.
Science forms an integral part of the curriculum, encouraging clear thinking, inquiry, and
problem-solving. Children are introduced to key scientific areas including botany, zoology,
chemistry, physics, geology, and astronomy.
Through exploration and observation, we nurture a sense of wonder about the universe and
inspire a lifelong interest in nature and discovery. Our aim is to cultivate love, respect, and
responsibility for all living things through meaningful understanding and awareness.
Enriching Activities and Clubs
Cookery and Life Skills Programme
Cooking activities provide children with valuable experiences in healthy eating, measuring,
teamwork, and basic food preparation. These sessions strengthen independence,
mathematical understanding, and awareness of nutrition and wellbeing. As one of the
most skill-rich classroom experiences, cookery club is offered fortnightly to children aged
two and above.
Creative Music and Dance Sessions
Through weekly music and dance sessions, children develop coordination, listening skills,
confidence, and creative expression. They sing, explore rhythm, and play musical
instruments while enhancing social interaction. Dance activities, including Zumba, promote
fitness, balance, flexibility, and energy. Children are also prepared to participate in diverse
cultural celebrations.
Yoga, Physical Exercise and Mindfulness Programme
Age-appropriate yoga, stretching, and relaxation activities support children’s emotional
regulation, balance, and body awareness. These sessions promote physical coordination,
calmness, and overall wellbeing. Through guided mindfulness practices, children develop
focus, self-control, and inner confidence, fostering healthy habits that contribute positively
to both learning and daily life experiences.
Outdoor activities for Physical Development
Outdoor activities for physical development include Football, Basketball, Running,
Climbing, Balancing, Cycling, Ball games, Obstacle courses, and free play. These
activities strengthen gross motor skills, coordination, stamina, and spatial awareness.
Outdoor play also promotes teamwork, confidence, resilience, and overall wellbeing while
encouraging active, healthy lifestyles from an early age.
